Awkward Silence

I recently started experimenting with my eye makeup, trying to mix it up a bit. Josh and I had our regular date night on Saturday and this was the actual conversation:

Amy: "Hey Josh, how does my eye makeup look?"
Josh: "You shouldn't have put the dark stuff underneath your eye"
Amy: "What are you talking about?  I didn't put anything underneath my eye"
Josh; "Yeah you did.  It looks like you put the dark powder here" (brushes his fingers all over the space between the eye and the cheek)
Amy: "No, I didn't put anything there.  Those are just my dark circles from lack of sleep..."
  Josh:  (awkward silence)

You gotta love motherhood!!! :)

Random Dresden!

Here are some random Dresden photos/video from the past week.

This is how he rolls! (word)
Wacky hair and a knowing smile spells TROUBLE!

Caught Red Handed!

For the past two months, Dresden has learn to kiss things when asked. First he would only do it to me, then we got him to do it to Daddy as well. Now he will kiss just about everything!

Dresden is almost ready to crawl!!!

Last Friday, I put Dresden on the floor to roll around as usual, and he started going up on his knees. I quickly grabbed my camera so that Josh and you all could see.

Ocean City Mini-Vacation

Josh and I spent last Monday and Tuesday in Ocean City, MD.  This is the "go to" place when you want to go to the beach.  The weather was beautiful and the water was wonderful.  We stayed right off the beach and also toured the Boardwalk which is known to be one of the Top 5 Boardwalks in the US.
This was only my second time at a beach, first time in the water.  I quickly discovered that sand is annoying and is worse than dog hair.  Especially when there is a diaper involved and a baby who is not content at staying still anymore!

This was the hotel we stayed at right on the beach.

View of the Beach

There was a kite store on the Boardwalk that had a bunch of kites tied up on the beach to show.  The pictures do not show it too well, but these were HUGE kites.

One guy was telling us that the man who did these sand sculptures comes to the boardwalk once a week and builds them.  He then uses them and the attention they get as an opportunity to preach.

Dresden fast asleep after a long day.  This was the first time he had ever started sleeping on his stomach/side.  Now almost everyday I find him sleeping like this.

On Tuesday we went on th OC Rocket, which is a speedboat that takes you out in the ocean.  While there was kids crying and screaming in fear, leave it to Dresden to laugh and love the ride the entire time.

Happy Fourth of July

We went to the National Mall for the 4th of July on Sunday.  We were really worried about Dresden not being able to sit for so long in the heat since it was suppose to get up to 98 degrees.  We packed our stroller with every possible thing that we could think of needing.  It ended up being super heavy and Josh was just getting a workout pushing it around.  The security guy at the entrance was even shocked how much stuff we had managed to fit on this thing when he was inspecting all of our bags.  When we finally got a spot and sat underneath the Washington Monument, it was about 6:00 and the fireworks started at about 9:10.  You wouldn't have even realized Dresden was bothered by the heat the way he was acting.  He played and giggled all day long.  The funniest thing was that one of Josh's co-workers had a bunch of girls from BYU meet us there.  They immediately began swarming over Dresden and took random pictures of him all day.  I think it is crazy how people I do not know, or will never see again in my life, are interested in having pictures of Dresden.  He is a local celebrity!
By the time the fireworks started, Dresden was immediately enthralled, even though we were so close to the "BOOM" of them.  They last about 15 minutes.  By about 8 minutes into the fireworks, he was out like a light.  Nothing would wake this kid up.  I guess the busy day finally had caught up with him!
