Dresden's and Josh's Bday Party

On Sunday we had a family dinner/birthday party for Josh and Dresden.  Everyone really pitched in and helped make some wonderful food.  Josh's parents also were so kind in letting us use their house.  Heaven forbid if we tried to fit and feed that many people in our house, we would be bursting!  Kattie got some great pictures of Dresden opening his presents.  I think regardless of the camera, Josh and I are cursed when it comes to picture taking.

Josh took a sneak picture of our cute little niece playing the piano.

Dresden was frightened by the singing and candles.  He started crying in the middle of Happy Birthday.

I made him a chocolate pudding tart instead of cake.  I think he liked it.

Okay, I think he REALLY liked it. He shoved the whole pastry in his mouth after licking off all the pudding and whipped cream.

She was licking her plate.

We had to take off his clothes to open presents.  Pudding and presents do not mix... most of the time.

Creepy?  Very much so.

Stud-ly

We realized quickly that Dresden does NOT like tissue paper

I have no words to describe this face.

Someone else was enjoying the new toys.

There must be residue pudding in there somewhere!

Happy Birthday to Our Little Boy - A Year in Photos

Today is our Dresden's FIRST Birthday.  Josh and I are so grateful for this little boy and the spirit he brings into our home.  We love him with all our heart.  He is truly special and we know he is meant for great things.  What a better way to celebrate than a montage of photos from this past year to show how much he has changed!
Two Days Old at the Hospital!

He was smiling at 3 weeks old.

Overdue Post - Dresden, Dresden, Dresden, Etc.

As many of you already know, Josh, Dresden and I are back in Utah and trying to settle in, but it seems like we have more on our plate now that we are back!  So much for a vacation (is it called a vacation when you are at home?).  So due to overwhelming demand from my (or Dresden's, so hard to keep track) fans, here is an updated post for those Dresden-aholics (You know who you are!).  (ps.  I am in a parenthesis mood today, so bear with me)
I always knew we were rich when this kid came into our lives!!

His head fits perfectly!

Dresden looking COMPLETELY bored at the Museum of Natural History

The whole (small) family at Fort McHenry in Baltimore

Sitting on a cannonball, you know, what ALL the kids are doing these days.

Eating his alligator

(Posers) :)

Who needs a pillow pet when you have a GIRAFFE?!?!?

AHHH!

Taking a stroll at Mt Vernon

Nice grass...

At the Marine Corp Memorial

Only COOL babies wear 3D glasses at night

We didn't have a clean jacket for Dresden in Kansas so Josh wrapped him in a blanket.  He looks like an ice cream cone.

That foot needed at least a week to dry after this

One year going on 8

Loving the hair

We can at least get a picture of two of his 6 teeth.

My milkshake brings all the moms to the yard...

Yesterday while watching his favorite show on Josh's iPad, Dresden decided to show us that he can clap and dance!  Now he claps any chance he gets.
